What is Alpaca Therapy?
ALPACA THERAPY – one of the gentlest and most effective fields of animal-assisted therapy (alongside canine and equine therapy). It involves cooperation between the patient, a qualified therapist, and a specially trained animal. Alpacas are remarkably intelligent, curious, quiet creatures devoid of any aggression.
Crucially for therapy – their delicate, silky fleece contains no lanolin or animal wax, making it 100% hypoallergenic and safe for children suffering from airborne or contact allergies.
Certified Alpaca Therapist — Elżbieta Kohut
Alpaca therapy sessions in Dębowiec are led by Elżbieta Kohut — certified alpaca therapist with extensive experience working with children, youth, and adults with developmental deficits.
Each meeting is prepared individually, based on an assessment of the client's needs and perceptual abilities. Our alpacas from the Ajmaraya Farm herd were specially selected for their gentle temperament, patience, and trust in humans.

Indications for Alpaca Therapy
Alpaca-assisted therapy represents an excellent complement to traditional psychomotor and pedagogical rehabilitation.
Autism and Asperger Syndrome
The calm, predictable presence of an alpaca helps break down communication barriers, stimulates eye contact, and reduces social anxieties.
ADHD and Hyperactivity
The calming heart rhythm and gentle breathing of alpacas have a soothing effect, teaching emotional self-regulation, focus, and patience.
Down syndrome
Activities stimulate the cognitive sphere, motivate physical movement, develop speech, and build self-efficacy and confidence.
Cerebral Palsy (CP)
Stroking soft wool and walking on a halter support motor rehabilitation, muscle tone regulation, and hand-eye coordination.
Emotional and Anxiety Disorders
Unconditional acceptance from the animal lowers cortisol levels, soothes emotional traumas, and builds a sense of security.
Sensory Integration
The abundance of tactile, olfactory, and visual stimuli in the natural ranch environment supports the harmonious development of the senses.
